Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

Pretty much, these are the things that keep me sane. If it’s here it’s probably for a good reason. Check it out.

Workstation

  • Macbook Pro M4 Pro

A beast that can do pretty much whatever I throw at it. All my web projects are built on this and it has been great.

  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, AMD RX 9070 XT, 32GB DDR5

My new gaming PC that can run pretty much anything on my ultrawide monitor. I also use this for any windows development that needs be done. Such as WPF apps and the like.

  • LG Ultrawide Monitor

I actually got this monitor as a gift from my old employer. It’s really nice for when I’m working on a website because I can use multiple sections of the screen at once.

  • HP VH240a Monitor

My second montior that I actually use vertically instead of horizontally. It’s nice because I like to use it for communications like Discord or emails. I also like to use it for notes or to just have something on the side for extra screen real estate.

  • EPOMAKER x Aula F75 w/Ice Vein Switches

A beautiful sounding affordable mechanical keyboard I picked up recently. The Ice vein swithces are much quieter than I expected and the sound much better too.

  • Logitech MX Vertical

A really cool vertical mouse that I use on the daily. I can easily switch devices from my Mac to my PC at a push of a button. I liked it so much I actually have a second one that I keep at work.

  • Office Chair

Unfortunately I don’t have a fancy chair that I like right now. I am hoping to get a new one and that will support my back easier. Hopefully I get something with a tall back as I am one tall man.

Development tools

  • Visual Studio Code

The best editor I’ve had the pleasure of using. I love the extension ecosystem and the way that I can customize it to my liking. Recently it also has a setting sync so just with my Github login I can have my setup no matter where I am. Of course with my favorite sidebar on the RIGHT SIDE. (Yes it’s the best side. Fight me.)

  • Windows Terminal / Ghostty

When I use windows I have to go with the windows terminal. It’s very clean and I just enjoy using it with Jetbrains Mono and some Catppuccin Mocha theme for every terminal linux or not. For Ghostty I do the same thing just in mac, this has been a recent development so I’m still getting used to it’s features but I am enjoying it so far.a

Design

  • Excalidraw

For quick references and whiteboarding. I can’t go wrong with Excalidraw. I really like the hand-written feel that it has. And prefer it when I am thinking about new features and systems.

  • Figma

When I need it to go from quick drawings to a closer product, I use Figma. Recently I have not been using it as much but I know it’s there if I ever need it.
